1 lb. great northern beans
1 ham bone
2 stalks celery, chopped
1 medium onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, mashed
salt & pepper, to taste

Directions:
Wash beans and cover with water. Bring to a boil. Take off heat and let sit overnight. Wash ham hock and place in pot. Add beans to pot, adding celery and onion. Cover with water (1"-2" from top). Add garlic. Cover and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 2-3 hours. If it seems watery, uncover and continue cooking. Add salt and pepper to taste.
