1 C. almonds
1. C. butter
1 C. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
12 oz. pkg. chocolate ships (2 C.)
1/4 C. pecans, chopped

Directions:
Directions:
Toast almonds in a single layer, in the microwave, 2-3 minutes. Stir after each minute. Arrange almonds in a single layer on a foil-lined baking sheet. In a heavy 2 quart pan, combine butter, sugar, salt and vanilla. Cool, stirring constantly until butter is melted. Continue stirring 7-10 minutes until candy is the color of brown skin of the almonds. It will smoke slightly. Immediately pour mixture over almonds, covering all the nuts. Sprinkle with chocolate chips evenly over candy. Wait 1 minute and then spread the melted chips over the candy and sprinkle with chopped pecans. Let cool and break into pieces.Makes 25 pieces.
