1/2 c water
2 egg whites
1 t vanilla

Directions:
Combine sugar, corn syrup, and water in a medium/small pot. Heat on low until the sugar is dissolved. Without stirring, heat to 260F or “hard ball” on a candy thermometer. When it’s about ten degrees away from 260F, beat egg whites with an electric mixture until they have stiff peaks. When sugar mixture reaches temperature, pour it in a thin stream (while beating) into the egg whites. Add vanilla and food coloring (if desired). Beat until the mixture holds shape. Spoon in rounded tablespoons with two spoons onto wax paper. Let cool.
