• ½ cup butter
• 2 squares (1 oz. each) unsweetened baking chocolate
• 2 large eggs beaten
• 1 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
• ¼ tsp. almond extract
• ½ cup all purpose flour
• 1 ½ cups M & M chocolate mini baking bits, divided
• ½ cup slivered almonds, divided

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Grease and flour 8 x 8 pan
3. In small saucepan melt butter and chocolate over low heat, stir to blend, remove and let cool
4. In medium bowl combine beaten eggs and brown sugar,
5. Stir in chocolate mixture and almond extract.
6. Add flour
7. Stir in 1 cup of M&M’s chocolate bits and ¼ cup almonds
8. Spread batter evenly in pan
9. Bake for 25 to 28 min or until firm in center
10. Cool completely
11. Prepare chocolate glaze, spread over brownies, and decorate with remaining M&M’s and almonds.

Chocolate Glaze
1. In a small saucepan, over low heat combine
• 4 Tbsp. water
• 1 Tbsp. butter
2. Until it comes to the boil.
3. Stir in 4 tablespoons cocoa.
4. Gradually stir in ½ cup icing sugar until smooth
5. Remove from heat,
6. Stir in ¼ tsp. vanilla extract
7. Let glaze cool slightly
