CAKE:

2 C. Sugar
2 C. Flour
1 tsp. Soda
1 tbsp. Cinnamon
2 sticks butter
4 tbsp. cocoa
1 C. water
1/2 C. buttermilk
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla


ICING:

1 Stick Butter
6 Tbsp. buttermilk
4 Tbsp. cocoa
1 Box powdered sugar
1 C. Pecans (optional)
Directions:

Sift the following ingredients together:

2 C. Sugar
2 C. Flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 TB cinnamon

Place the following in a saucepan:
1 cup water
2 Sticks Butter
4 tbsp Cocoa

Bring to a rapid boil and then pour over the sifted ingredients.

Mix and add:

1/2 C. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs

Stir and then pour into a large greased cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 25 min.

ICING:
Combine the butter, buttermilk and cocoa in a pan and bring to a boil. Then add the powdered sugar and pecans. Mix well and ice the cake while it is still hot.

This cake has been my family's favorite for many years. To make a half sheet pan size, make an additional half recipe.
