1 T. dry mustard
2 T. water
3 T. butter
3 T. flour
Pepper to taste
1 c. milk
2 c. diced cheddar cheese

Directions:
Directions:
Mix mustard and water and set aside while preparing other ingredients. Melt butter in double boiler or fondue pot. Add flour and pepper to butter and mix. Slowly, in stages, stir milk into flour mixture until thickened. Add diced cheese and stir well until melted. Adjust heat, the cheese may take several minutes to melt. Just before serving, add mustard mixture and stir well. Serve with toasted sour dough bread that has been cut into squares, using fondue forks.

The fondue tradition began when Beverly and her brother John Johnson were growing up. Their mother, Dorothy Hilpert Johnson really enjoyed fondue. The tradition continued and Beverly and Gary Young often served this recipe to Jon and Amy Young during their childhood.
