½ c. shortening
1½ c. sugar
2 large eggs
2 c. flour
¼ tsp. baking powder
¾ tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
¼ c. buttermilk
1 c. banana (about 3 bananas)

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar.
Add eggs.
Mix Flour, baking powder, soda and salt. Add with ¼ cup buttermilk.
Add bananas.
Grease and flour frozen juice cans or loaf pan.
Bake at 350ºF for 1 hour.

If cruising, buttermilk can be made with sweet milk and vinegar.
