6 medium potatoes - thinly sliced
3 T. butter
4 T. flour
2 1/2 c. milk
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
2 T. chopped onion
2 -3 c. chunked ham

Directions:
Directions:
Melt butter in sauce pan. Add onions and cook about 4 minutes. Add flour to make a roux. Add salt and pepper. Slowly add milk and whisk until smooth and it thickens.

Placed sliced potatoes in layer on bottom of greased casserole dish. Add a layer of ham chunks. Repeat with a layer of potatoes and then ham chunks ending with a layer of potatoes. Pour white sauce over the potatoes.

Bake at 350º for 1 hour. Cover pan during first 30 minutes of baking. Uncover and return to oven for last 30 minutes of baking.
