1/2 cup margarine
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 egg (separated)
1 cup flour
1/2 tsp vanilla

Chopped walnuts to coat
Strawberry Jam for filling

Directions:
Directions:
Mix all ingredients together except egg white and walnuts
Cover and put in the fridge for 30 min
Roll into small balls
Dip in egg white
Roll in Chopped walnuts
Make thumbprint in middle of each
Place on greased cookie sheet
Bake @350º for approx. 15 min
Press centre again bake for another 10 min
Fill thumbprint with jam while warm

Christmas just wouldn't be the same without this treat, in fact I am not sure my children even know how great these are because when Grandma sends us some I usually hide them and eat them all myself !!
