½ c. butter (softened)
½ c. shortening
1½ c. sugar
2 eggs
2¼ c. flour
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
¼ tsp. salt
4 T. sugar
4 tsp. cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400°. Cream butter, shortening, and sugar. Add eggs and mix well. Blend in flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt. Shape dough by rounded teaspoonfuls into balls. Mix the 4 T. sugar and the cinnamon in a small dish. Rolls balls in sugar mixture and place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until set. Immediately remove from baking sheet. Makes about 6 dozen.
