1 c. sugar
1 c. powdered sugar
1 c. butter (softened)
1 c. salad oil
2 eggs (beaten)
2 tsp. vanilla
5 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar
¼. tsp. salt
sugar for flattening

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350°. In a mixing bowl, cream sugar, powdered sugar, and butter. Add salad oil, eggs, and vanilla; mix well. Add flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt. Mix thoroughly. By teaspoonfuls, roll dough into balls and place on a greased cookie sheet 2 inches apart. Press each cookie with the bottom of a glass that has been dipped in sugar. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes making sure that the cookies do not get too brown. Makes about 100 cookies.

We found this in Mom's recipe box. It was a handwritten recipe, probably by Aunt Jean, and Mom wrote on there, "These are real good."
