2 ½ cups self rising flour
1 ½ cups vegetable oil
1 cup buttermilk
1 ½ cups sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon vanilla
¼ cup red food coloring (2 oz.)
1 Tablespoon cocoa powder
1 Tablespoon white vinegar

Frosting
1 1/3 sticks butter
8 oz. cream cheese
1-1lb.box powdered sugar
2 cups chopped pecans
1 teaspoon vanilla

1. Cream together oil, sugar, and vanilla
2. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each
3. Add cocoa & food coloring
4. Sift flour and add, alternating w/buttermilk, to creamy mixture
5. DO NOT BEAT IN SODA & VINEGAR!
6. Sprinkle soda over batter
7. Then pour vinegar over batter
8. Stir until well blended
9. Pour into 3 square cake pans (greased & sprinkled with powdered sugar)
10. Bake @ 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 20 minutes.
