1-2 pounds of Mussels
1 T butter
2 cloves garlic, minced
½ C Minced onions
Pinch of crushed red pepper
salt, basil, parsley
1½ C white wine of your choice

Directions:
Directions:
Saute garlic and onion in butter until onion is translucent, add crushed red pepper, salt, basil and parsley.

Add wine. Stir well, cover and simmer for a few minutes.

Clean mussels under cold water. Scrub off any sand, and beard left on shell.

Bring wine sauce to boil, add cleaned mussels and stir to coat with sauce. Cover and steam for 5 min. Stir again, cover and let steam another 5 min.

Should take 10-15 min. to steam mussels. Do not eat any mussel that does not open -- they are not safe to eat.

Serve hot with sauce and bread for dipping.

May serve as a meal over linguine.
