Directions:
Use cake pans or cookie sheet, fill pans with about ½ inch of powdered sugar. Make troughs for candy.

Mix sugar, water and syrup, but do not stir after initial mixing. Bring to a boil and cook until it reaches 300 °F or hard crack on cany thermometer, about 20 minutes. (Start on high and leave on high heat; be sure pan is deep enough to avoid boiling over)

Remove immediately from heat and add flavoring and coloring. Pour at once into powdered sugar troughs. Work quickly and start cutting right away. Scissors work well to cut candy. Place in colander and shake off excess sugar.

Flavor and color combinations:

Wintergreen - dark green
Spearmint - light green
Cinnamon - red
Lemon - yellow
Orange - light orange
Sassafras - orange
Clove - brown
Anise - clear
Peppermint - pink
