1 1/4 c. sifted all-purpose flour
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. peanut butter
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 egg, well beaten

Directions:

Sift together dry ingredients. Cream shortening and peanut butter; gradually add sugars and the well-beaten egg. Combine dry ingredients and creamed mixture. Chill. roll into balls 1" in diameter and place on lightly greased and floured baking sheet. Flatten with form dipped in flour, making a criss-crossed pattern. Bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes. Makes 3 1/2 to 4 dozen cookies
