2 lbs beef, cut in cubes (roast or inexpensive cut)
1 large sweet onion,cut in 1" pieces
Carrots (½ - 1lb)
Potatoes, cut in cubes (4 or so)
1 or 2 pkg onion soup mix

Directions:
Directions:
Brown meat in large pot. Add 8-12 C water, onion, and soup mix. Bake in oven at 350 °F for 2-3 hours until beef is tender. Add carrots and potatoes. Bake another 1 hour.

Thicken with a little flour/water mixture if needed.

Can also add soup mix to browned meat. Cover and continue to cook on stove top until meat is tender. This will speed up baking time.
