180 gr butter
½ cup sugar
2 eggs
1 ¼ cups SR Flour
1/3 cup custard powder
2 Granny Smith Apples thinly sliced
20 gr extra butter
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

Custard
1 ½ tablespoon Custard Powder
1 ½ tablespoon caster sugar
1 cup milk
20 gr butter
2 teaspoon vanilla


Directions:

Cake
Lightly grease 23cm round cake tin, line with paper
Cream butter and sugar, add eggs 1 at a time, beating well
Stir in sifted flour and custard powder
Spread half of cake mixture into tin
Spread with cold custard
Spread remainder of cake mix over custard
Arrange apple over the top of cake, brush with extra butter. Sprinkle with cinnamon
Bake in Moderate oven for 1 ¼ hrs. Cool in pan

Custard
Combine custard powder and sugar in pan, gradually stir in milk until smooth
Stir over heat until mixture boils and thickens. Stir in butter and essence
Cover in plastic wrap placing wrap on surface of custard.
