1 1/2 cups oil 1 tsp. soda 3 eggs 1 tsp. vanilla
2 cups sugar 3 cups diced raw apples
3 cups flour 1 cup raisins
tsp. salt 1 cups nuts

Sauce
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 stick margarine
1 cup sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp soda
Directions:
Directions:
Dust apples, raisins and nuts with some of the flour; set aside. Blend oil, sugar and slightly beaten eggs. Sift together remaining flour, salt, soda; add to eggs mixture. Fold in apples, nuts and raisins. Turn into 10 inch greased tube pan and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until done. I cut wax paper to fit bottom of pan to keep batter from running out around tube insert.
Prepare sauce;
Combine buttermilk, margarine, sugar. vanilla and soda; boil rapidly for 2 minutes stirring constantly. Pour over cake in pan while cake still hot. Leave in pan for several hours. After cool complete turn on to cake plate.
