1 lb. mushrooms
4-5 slices lemon
1/2 cup olive oil
1 cup red or white wine vinegar
1/2 Tbl. oregano
2 cloves garlic
5-8 peppercorns
1/2 Tbl. salt
1-2 bay leaves
parsley

Directions:
Directions:
Trim stems and clean mushrooms. Cut a tic-tac-toe pattern in caps. Add mushrooms to big pot with lemon slices, oil, vinegar, garlic, oregano, bay leaves, peppercorns and salt. Heat over high heat until mushrooms become dark.
Turn off heat; let sit. Cool to room temp. Remove and discard garlic, peppercorns, lemon. Mushrooms can be made a day before and refrigerated till serving. Garnish with lemons and parsley.

Again, this is a recipe that I found but I am not sure if it is the "original marinated mushroom" that we have been looking for. Let me know if this is not correct or if you have a better one.
