1 pkg. dry yeast
¼ cup warm water
½ cup butter, softened
¼ cup sugar
1 teaspoon salt
3 ½ cups flour
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon cardamom

Directions:
Directions:
Dissolve dry yeast in warm water. In another bowl, mix butter, sugar & salt. Mix well. Add remaining ingredients, including dissolved yeast. Knead until smooth on floured board or in food processor using bread hook (about 2-3 minutes). Let rise about one hour in a greased bowl, or until doubled in size. Roll out on lightly floured board, then sprinkle with
cinnamon, sugar, raisins and chopped nuts. Roll dough up to fit in a greased loaf pan. Let rise again until doubled in size. Brush with beat up egg and sprinkle with sugar, cinnamon, and nuts. Bake at 375 for approximately 40-50 minutes until golden brown.

OPTION – “PULL-APARTS”
After rolling dough up filled with sugar, nuts, etc., Instead of putting into loaf pan, cut roll into 1 ½ inch slices and place on top of a brown sugar, butter and nut mixture (see below) in a greased cake or pie pan.Bake as directed above. As soon as pull-aparts come out of the oven, invert them onto a plate or tray so that the gooey nut mixture will be on top.

TOPPING FOR PULL-APARTS
1-cup nuts, chopped
1-cup brown sugar
½ cup butter or margarine sliced and dotted on sugar & nuts.
