1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. white sugar
1 c. shortening (butter flavored)
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar
Directions:
Directions:
Cream sugars and shortening. Add egg and vanilla. Mix in dry ingredients. Roll into balls, dip in cold water, then dip in granulated white sugar. Bake at 350 for approximately 8 minutes.

This is a recipe from one of my former hospice patients - she always had treats waiting for me when I visited her! These are appropriately named "angel" cookies.
