4 large onions
1/4 c butter
box of beef broth
salt & pepper
bay leaf
croutons
shredded swiss cheese
shredded parmesan cheese
dry white wine (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
cook onion in butter in large pot until caramelized. Add wine and cook for a little bit while stirring and then add broth and bay leaf. Bring to a boil and let simmer for 30 minutes. Pour soup into individual soup oven proof soup bowls. Add croutons to individual bowls and top with swiss cheese and then parmesan cheese. Broil in oven until cheese browns.
