1 box yellow cake mix
1 large can crushed pineapple
1 c sugar
1 large box vanilla instant pudding
3 bananas, sliced
1 can coconut
frozen whipped topping, thawed

Directions:
Directions:
Bake cake in 9" x 13" pan according to directions on back of box. In saucepan, combine sugar with crushed pineapple. Bring to boil. When done but still hot, punch holes all over top of cake with meat fork. Pour hot pineapple mixture evenly over top. Once cake has cooled, slice bananas and layer evenly over top of pineapple mixture. NOTE: Dipping banana slices in orange juice will keep them from turning dark. For final layer, mix together pudding mix, whipped topping and coconut. Drop spoonfuls of topping mixture evenly over cake, then spread to edges of pan.

Thanks to Food.com and Linda N for additional information needed to complete this recipe. Linda added this note, "When my kids were little, I called this cake the Best Cake in The Whole Wide World cake." Linda's recipe used 8 ounces of cream cheese, instead of instant pudding.
