Ingredients: 1½ cups sugar ⅓ cup cocoa ½ cup flour 1 tsp. vanilla 2½ cups milk 3 eggs 1 baked pie crust

Directions: |
Directions:Preheat oven to 350º F. Vent unbaked pie crust in bottom and around sides with a fork. Then bake until the crust is golden brown. Remove from oven & cool.
Separate egg yolks from whites; set whites aside for meringue
Mix all ingredients together, except egg whites Cook until the mixture is thick enough for pie filling. Cool and pour into baked crust.
Meringue: Beat egg whites until they start to get foamy. gradually add 1/4 cup sugar as you beat. Beat until meringue forms peaks when you raise the mixer. Pile high on pie and return to oven and brown meringue. Make sure you get the meringue all the way up to the edge of the crust so it won't pull away from the crust around the sides. |

Notes: This is a great recipe. Very Good. Recipe came from my Sister, Frances Freeman. I have baked these pies for a long time...since Sonia was about 3-4 years old (1970).
