1/2 c. oleo or butter
1/2 c. vegetable shortening
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. powdered sugar
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
1/2 tsp. cream tartar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. soda
2 1/2 c. flour
Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter, shortening, and sugar until creamy. Add beaten egg and flavoring. Sift dry ingredients together and add to the butter and sugar mixture. Chill for approx. 1 hour or longer. Roll dough into small balls. Flatten with a lid or glass dipped in sugar. Can be decorated with colored sugar or sprinkles. Bake at 375º for 10 - 12 min.
