Pizza Dough: 1 c. Warm Water 1 tsp. Sugar 1/2 tsp. Salt 2 tbsp. Olive or Coconut Oil 1 tsp. Instant Dry Yeast 1-1/2 c. Barley Flour 1-1/2 c. Whole Wheat Flour
Toppings: 1/4 c. Pizza Sauce 1 c. Cheddar/Mozzarella Cheese, grated
Any Combination of the following: Cooked Ground Beef, Peppers, Onions, Mushrooms, Ham, Pineapple, Fresh Tomatoes, Pepperoni, Jalapeños, Black Olives to name a few...

Directions:Bake 425º for 15 to 20 min. Pizza Pan 2x Mixing Bowl Grater
Lightly OIL pizza pan and sprinkle CORNMEAL evenly across the surface. Set aside.
In bowl, mix WATER, SUGAR, SALT and OIL stirring until sugar and salt are dissolved.
In a large bowl, mix 1 c. BARLEY FLOUR and YEAST. Add the liquid mixture to the dry ingredients and stir until there are no lumps. The dough will be sticky. Add another c. of flour and mix until there are no lumps or loose flour. Add remaining FLOUR 1/2 c. at a time. You may not need all the flour so add it gradually.
Place dough on a lightly floured surface and kneed till smooth and elastic; about 5 min. If dough becomes sticky sprinkle a bit more flour over it. Roll out dough into a circle and place on prepared pizza pan. Pinch edges of dough to form a ridge. Add pizza sauce and your favourite combination of toppings topping with cheese. Bake. Slice and serve. |
