Ingredients: 1 stick butter, softened 1 cup sugar 1/2 teaspoon salt 2 eggs 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour 1/2 teaspoon baking powder 1 (21 oz.) can cherry pie filling 1/2 cup confectioners sugar 4 oz. cream cheese, softened 3 tablespoon milk

Directions:Preheat oven to 350º.
Line an 8 x 8-inch baking pan with aluminum foil. Spray with nonstick spray and set aside. In a large mixing bowl, add butter and sugar. Mix for 1 to 2 minutes. Add salt, eggs and vanilla extract; continue stirring until fully incorporated. Mix in flour and baking powder. Reserve 1/2 cup of dough. Press remaining dough into prepared baking pan. Top with cherry pie filling. Drop reserved 1/2 cup dough in pieces over cherry filling.
Bake for 50 to 60 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from oven and cool completely.
In a separate bowl, mix together confectioners sugar, cream cheese and milk until smooth. Drizzle glaze over bars and cut into squares. |
