Directions:
The first half of this recipe makes plain dinner rolls, if you so choose.
Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup water. Cream shortening and sugar. Add beaten egg, water, salt and yeast mixture. Add flour, mix well, put in bowl and let rise. Roll as many out as you need for one meal and let rise at room temp.
Bake at 350º until brown. Place rest of dough in refrigerator for another time.
For Cinnamon Rolls:
Roll 1/8" thick. Spread with melted butter. Mix 2 Tbsp. sugar and 1/4 tsp. cinnamon. Spread on dough. At this point I like to also sprinkle chopped pecans and raisins on the dough. Roll up dough and then cut 1/2" thick.
Allow to rise. and bake at 350º until brown.

Personal Notes:
This recipe comes from our close friend and cousin, Linda Demott, and the Aucilla Christian Academy in 1975! The Cinnamon rolls are probably my very favorite food in the whole world. Linda used to make them for their neighbors on Christmas morning.
