1/4 lb bulk pork sausage
1 tbsp. butter
2 tbsp. chopped onion
2 tbsp. chopped canned mushrooms
3/4 c pkg precooked rice
1/2 c water
1/4 c white wine
1 small apple diced
1/2 c diced celery and leaves
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp savory or thyme
freshly ground pepper

Directions:
Brown sausage meat in butter in medium size saucepan stirring with fork to keep separated. Add onion and mushrooms and stir-cook for 3 min. Mix in remaining ingredients. Bring to boiling point over high heat. Cover and remove from heat. Let stand 5 min. Use to stuff crown roast, breast of turkey or small chicken. May be doubled or tripled for large turkey.
