1 C sugar
2 C flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp cloves
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1 C applesauce
1 egg
1/4 tsp sugar
2/3 C shortening
1 cup raisins
1 cup chopped nuts
Directions:
Directions:
Cram sugar and shortening, add egg, applesauce. Add nuts and raisins with a little flour, mix well. Add flour, baking soda, cloves, cinnamon and nutmeg.

Bake in moderate oven 350º for approx 1 hour.
