1/4 C butter
1/4 C shortening
1 1/2 C sugar
3 eggs well beaten

2 C flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 teas baking powder
2 teas nutmeg
1/4 tsp vanilla
1 C buttermilk

Cream the first 4 ingredients togetehr.

Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with buttermilk.

Bake in w layers at 350º for 25 minutes or 1 large pan for 30-35 minutes
