1 tube Jimmy Dean sausage OR 1lb of sausage links
1 lb Ground beef or turkey
1 onion, chopped
2-3 garlic cloves, minced
1 green pepper, chopped
1 container fresh mushrooms, sliced
1 jalapeņo
1-2 tomatoes, diced
1 large can of tomatoes
1 can hot chili beans
1 can kidney and/or pinto beans
1 can Cheddar cheese soup
1 6oz can tomato paste
1 8oz can tomato sauce
1-2 cups tomato juice
1/2 - 1 cup red wine OR can of beer
chili powder to taste
hot sauce drops if desired
Mexican cheese shredded
sour cream if desired
tortilla chips

Directions:
Directions:
Saute garlic, onion, green pepper, mushrooms and jalapeņo in Dutch oven

Cook sausage and ground beef turkey separately

Combine all ingredients, except shredded cheese and tortillas in Dutch oven

Bring to a boil, then turn down and simmer for 1.5 - 2 hrs.

Top with cheese, sour cream. Serve with chips

I play around with the amount of tomato juice and red wine. The last few years I've actually switched to beer instead of red wine

I also change the amount of chili powder and hot sauce
