6 large pears, (Bosc are best)
Poaching liquid:
1-2 C water
1 C sugar
2 tsp vanilla
1 tsp lemon juice
2 cinnamon sticks
4 whole cloves

Sauce:
8 oz milk chocolate
2 tsp butter
2 tsp whipping cream
1 tsp Grand Marnier or vanilla

Directions:
To make poaching liquid, boil all poaching ingredients until sugar is dissolved. Poach pears in poaching liquid, stems up. Baste pears frequently for 15-20 minutes.

Remove from liquid. Place on serving plates and drizzle with sace.

Sauce:
Over double boiler, melt chocolate. Add butter, and slowly add whipping cream.
When well combined stir in Grand Marnier or vanilla.

Serve.
Serve with Whipped Cream or Vanilla Ice Cream if desired.
