4 to 5 lb beef chuck or rump roast
2 tbsp. shortening
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
6 whole cloves
water
1/2 c Real Lemon lemon juice
1/3 c sugar
1/3 c honey
2 medium onions thinly sliced
2 tsp cornstarch

Directions:
Using Dutch oven, heavy skillet or kettle with tight fitting lid brown meat on all sides in shortening. Pour off drippings. Season meat with salt, pepper and cloves. Mix lemon juice, sugar and honey and add to meat. Add onions. Cover tightly and cook slowly oven low heat or in a slow oven (300ºF) about 3 to 3 1/2 hours or until tender. Remove meat to heated platter. Measure cooking liquid and add enough water to make 2 cups liquid. Thicken with cornstarch. Serve sweet-sour gravy over meat slices and rice or noodles.
