1 tsp salt
2 tsp baking powder
1 egg
1/2 cup milk

Directions:
Mom would fry chicken and put it in a roasting kettle with a little water, about 1 inch. Put it covered in the oven to finish cooking about 25-30 minutes. Then she made the dumplings and dropped by spoonfulls on top of the meat. Cook uncovered for 5 minutes. Then cover and let steam for 5 minutes. DO NOT OPEN LID until finished as dumplings will fall. Let set till ready to eat. Serve hot and you can make gravy from the meat broth after you take the chicken and dumplings out of the pan. Make gravy by adding a little more water to the broth left in the pan and make thickening with 2 tsp of corn starch and 1-2 tsp water, mix till stirs easy and add to the broth and whisk till its bubbly and thickened. I add 1 Tbls of chicken base granuales to the broth for more of a chicken flavor to my gravy.
