1cup cornmeal
1/3 cup shortening
1 egg
1cup milk
1/4 tsp salt
2 tsp baking powder
1cupflour

Directions:

Cream sugar and shortening,add beaten egg , mix well . Add milk cornmeal,stir,.add flour,sifted with baking powder and salt, mix we'll. pour into greased 8 inch pan
350 oven---45 minutes or until top is brown serve warm with maple or pancake syrup
