"A man who was fond of wine was offered some grapes at dessert after dinner. "Much obliged," said he, pushing the plate aside; "I am not accustomed to take my wine in pills."--Jean Antheleme Brillat-Savarin, The Physiology of Taste

Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 (18 1/4 oz.) package dark chocolate cake mix
1 1/3 cups water (or as directed in cake directions)
1/2 cup vegetable oil (or as directed in cake directions)
3 eggs (or as directed in cake directions)
1 (14 oz.) can of sweetened condensed milk
1 (8 - 12 oz.) jar of Mrs. Richardson's caramel OR butterscotch topping
8 oz. Cool Whip
2 Heath candy bars, crushed (Skor bars or Heath bits work also)

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º. Grease and lightly flour a 9 X 13 cake pan.

Make cake mix as directed on package. Bake the cake about 35 minutes or until it tests done.

As soon as it comes out of the oven, poke holes all over it with a fork (I use a meat fork, or you could use a chopstick) and pour sweetened condensed milk evenly over the cake, followed by the caramel sauce (microwaved about one minute until warm and easily pourable).

Refrigerate overnight. Shortly before serving, spread whipped topping over cake and sprinkle with crushed Heath bars.

Personal Notes:
Eileen Buringrud made a similar recipe for her and Mike's 15th wedding anniversary. Ken thought it was the best ever. Unfortunately, both Eileen and I lost the recipe, but this one comes pretty close.
