3 c flour
4 t baking powder
½ t cream of tartar
½ t soda
¼ c sugar
¾ t salt
½ c shortening
1 egg
1⅛ c buttermilk
Directions:
Directions:
Combine dry ingredients. Cut in shortening. Add egg and buttermilk. When dough forms a ball, knead 10 or 12 times. Roll dough into ¾" thick log. Cut into ¼" thick slices and place on cookie sheets to freeze. After frozen, place in plastic bags. To bake, thaw and bake 15 minutes at 475° until brown.
