1 can (12oz?) evaporated milk
3/4 c sugar (try 1/2c?)
3/4 c butter
4 egg yolks, beaten
1 T vanilla
3 cups flaked coconut
2 cups chopped pecans

Directions:
Directions:
Mix milk, sugar, butter egg yolks and vanilla in large saucepan. Cook and stir consistently over medium heat about 15 minutes or until thickened and golden color. Remove from heat.

Add coconut and pecans to frosting mixture. Cool to room temperate.

Makes enough for two layers or 1 9x13 cake.

I like to double this recipe and split the 8" layers. Make ahead and store in refrigerator - but it is easier to spread when it is room temp.
