2 oz. chocolate squares, finely shaved or chopped
1½ c sugar
⅓ c + 1 T milk
2 T butter
1 T corn syrup
¼ t salt
1 t vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
This is sufficient icing for 9" x 13" cake. Place in saucepan chocolate, sugar, milk, butter, corn syrup and salt. Bring this slowly to full rolling boil, stirring constantly. Boil briskly for 1 minute. If very humid weather, boil for 1½ minutes. Cool to lukewarm. Add vanilla and beat until thick and of spreading consistency. If frosting becomes to thick, add small amount of milk and beat, again.

This recipe is from Marian's "Shoebox." Marian's last name at the time was Chambliss. Her third husband was James Reese (Buck) Chambliss, Jr., who passed away at the age of 90 on Thursday, July 14, 2005.
