1st LAYER:
1 c. flour
1 stick margarine
1 c. pecans, chopped
(I usually add another ½ stick margarine, ½ c. flour, and ½ c. pecans)

Melt margarine and mix with flour and pecans. Pat into 9x13 Pyrex® pan and bake at 350ºF for 15 minutes. Cool to room temperature.


2nd LAYER:
1 c. powdered sugar (or less to minimize sugar)
¼ cup milk
8 oz. pkg. cream cheese
½ large carton (16 oz.) Cool Whip®
(for sugar free recipe you can use 2 large sugar free instant vanilla pudding in place of sugar, milk and cream cheese, but use only 4 c. of the milk in the pudding mix instead of six)

Cream all ingredients and pour over 1st layer.


3rd LAYER:
Mix 2 large packages instant chocolate pudding using 4 cups of milk instead of six. (for sugar free recipe use sugar free instant chocolate pudding)

Pour over 2nd layer.

4th LAYER:
Put remaining Cool Whip on top (other half of 16 oz. tub).
Option: Top with crushed pecans.
