2½ c confectioners' sugar
3 T cocoa
dash salt
3 T shortening
3 T butter
4 T cold coffee
¼ t vanilla
chopped nuts, optional

Directions:
Directions:
Sift confectioners' sugar, cocoa and salt. Blend. Cream shortening and butter. Add sugar, gradually. Add cold coffee. Beat until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and beat, again. Makes enough frosting for 2-layer cake. Frost cake and sprinkle with chopped nuts.

This recipe also contains the ingredient list for 1½ times the frosting: 3¾ cups confectioners' sugar, 4½ tablespoons cocoa, 4½ tablespoons shortening, pinch of salt, 4½ tablespoons butter, 6 tablespoons cold coffee, ½ teaspoon vanilla and chopped nuts.
