1 c whole wheat flour
1 c natural bran
2 generous tbsp. wheat germ
3/4 c well-packed brown sugar
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
1 egg
1/3 c vegetable oil
3/4 c milk
1 tsp vanilla
1 c raisins or currants or dates

Directions:
Directions:
In a large bowl combine flour, bran, wheat germ, sugar, salt and baking powder. In another bowl beat together egg, oil, milk and vanilla. Add liquid mixture and fruit to dry ingredients with a few strokes of your spoon as are necessary to moisten them. Do not over-mix. Drop into 12 well-buttered muffin tins and bake in a 375ºF oven 18 to 20 min. Cool on a wire rack and serve warm.
