1/2 lb. link sausage,cut into 1/2" pieces
1/3 cup olive oil or veg. oil
8 oz. uncooked shrimp,shelled and deveined
2 lobster tails,cut into 2" pieces
4 crab claws
2 pounds of chicken pieces
1 large onion,chopped
1 green pepper,chopped
2 cloves garlic,minced
2 cups uncooked regular rice
1/4 tsp. ground turmeric
2 1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. pepper
1 can artichoke hearts,drained
1 medium zucchini,cubed
2-3 dashes red pepper sauce
1 pkg. (10 ox) frozen peas
1 large tomato,chopped
3 1/2 cups chicken broth

Directions:
Brown sausage in large Dutch oven;remove and drain fat. Add oil to Dutch Oven. Saute fish until shrimp turns pink, 3-4 minutes. Remove. Add chicken,saute until golden about 8 min. Remove. Add and saute onion ,green pepper and garlic until tender. Stir in broth,rice, turmeric,salt and pepper. Heat to boiling. Stir in chicken and sausage. Reduce heat,simmer,covered 30 min. Stir in fish,artichokes, zucchini and pepper sauce. Simmer,covered 10 min. Stir in peas and tomato. Arrange clams on rice. Simmer,covered,until clams open and rice is tender,about 5 minutes.

When I had Paella in Spain in 2010 I immediately flashed back to this recipe. I remember it was labor and ingredient intensive. At the restaurant in Barcelona you had to order the Paella immediately and wait at least an hour until it was served. Plenty of time to eat hors' d' hoevres and drink more wine. And I think that is exactly what the Cooking Club did in 9/82 when we made this dish! Faye's handwriting on this, I believe.
