1 clove garlic,peeled
3 Tbl. olive oil
1 tsp. dry mustard
1 Tbls. lemon juice
1 Tbl. Worcestershire sauce
3 bunches of Romaine, washed well and dried with paper towels
1 Tbl grated Parmesan cheese
1 can anchovies,drained
egg boiled 60 seconds
1/2 cup croutons (preferably homemade)

Sprinkle bottom of wooden bowl with salt and rub inside of bowl with garlic clove. . Add lemon juice,mustard,Worcestershire sauce and mix together with wooden spoon. in bottom of bowl till salt dissolves. Add olive oil and stir rapidly until liquid is blended..Tear romaine leaves into bite size pieces and add to bowl with dressing. Sprinkle grated cheese, diced anchovies, and break egg over salad. Sprinkle with croutons. Toss gently and serve with wooden spoon.

This Caesar Salad is,I believe. a classic Cooking Club recipe. I have used it exactly as is many many times. It is simply the best. I had to use my reading glasses AND a magnifying lens to read my copy-that is how faded it is! A wooden bowl is imperative to its success because it absorbs the subtle garlic flavor so crucial to the recipe. I have also substituted fresh mustard for the ground but I wanted include the original recipe. Kudos to who submitted this one!
