1 1/2 lbs. boneless beef tenderloin or sirloin,cut 1"thick.
4 cloves garlic,minced
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup sake or dry sherry
2 Tbl. sugar
2 tsp. dry mustard
Preserved kumquats(optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Partially freeze beef. Thinly slice across grain into bite-size strips. Combine garlic,soy sauce,sake or sherry,sugar and mustard. Add meat to soy mixture and let stand 15 minutes at room temp. Drain meat,reserving marinade. Thread meat onto small skewers. If desired, halve kumquats and add a kumquat half to each skewer. Grill skewers on hibachi over HOT coals 5 to 7 minutes or until desired doneness. Turn and bast marinade frequently.

This was on magazine page with Chicken-Asparagus Skewers, Not sure if we made it but it sounded like a very good and very authentic Teriyaki recipe so I included it.
