8 oz. unsalted butter, softened
4 oz. almond paste
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 lb. granulated sugar
4 large eggs
10 oz. cake flour
1 Tbsp. baking powder
½ tsp. salt
8 fl oz. whole milk

Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350º F. Vegetable spray and parchment line the cake pans.
Cream the butter, almond paste, vanilla, and sugar together for 4 minutes. Stop and scrape the bowl; cream for another minute.
Add the eggs, one at a time, to the creamed mixture.
Sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Add the flour mixture and milk alternately to the creamed mixture. Pour the mixture into the baking pans. The batter will be thick.
Carefully smooth the batter with a metal offset spatula. Hit the pan against the counter to burst any air bubbles.
Bake until the cake shrinks slightly and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Baking timing: 45 minutes for two 7-inch pans; 85 to 90 minutes for one 10-inch pan
