1 c. soft butter
1/2 c. sugar
3 c. sifted flour
1 egg
4 tsp. rum flavoring
1 tsp. nutmeg

Frosting:
1/3 c. butter
3 tsp. rum flavoring
2 c. confectioners’ sugar
2 Tbsp. cream

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter with flavoring, gradually beating in sugar. Blend in egg, flour, and nutmeg. Chill dough. Shape pieces of dough on sugared board into a long roll 1/2-inch thick. Cut into 2-inch lengths. Bake on greased cookie sheet at 350º F for 12 to 15 minutes or a light brown. When cool, frost log and sides of cookies. With tongs of fork make lines in frosting to resemble bark.
