Make you stuffing, either ahead of when wanting to use (can be frozen), or just before heating.
I do not make it real moist nor add eggs to it. I do sauté the onions & celery till tender if doing in crock pot.
If dressing is frozen, make sure it is thawed before heating.
Directions:

I heat in generous sized crock pot, so you have room to stir the dressing a few times.
I usually heat on medium for 1 - 1 1/2 hours, stirring about 3 times.
I leave the lid on, and if it does need more moisture I add a few spoons of chicken or turkey stock.
If it is not hot enough by nearly serving time, turn heat up.
The lid will steam, so you may need to dry it with a paper towel.
If the dressing is hot early, shut the heat off and it will be fine for 20 minutes or so.
