1/2 c. diced onion
1/4 c. diced green pepper
1 lb ground beef
1 - 28 oz. can diced tomatoes
1 t. salt
1/2 t .sugar
1/4 t. thyme
1 small bay leaf
1 1/3 c. precooked rice

Directions:
Directions:
Brown ground beef, onion and green pepper. Drain. Drain tomatoes, measure juice. Add water to juice to make 1 1/2 c. Add liquid, tomatoes and spices. Cover and simmer 5 minutes. Stir in rice, cover and simmer 5 more minutes. Discard bay leaf.
